Bridges of Hope CA, is a non profit organization that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational incarceration by fostering strong family connections, providing reentry support, and empowering formerly incarcerated individuals. Our holistic programs focus on maintaining family bonds, personal development, entrepreneurial pathways, and restorative healing through art therapy. We strive to create brighter futures for individuals and families affected by incarceration, ensuring that youth receive the support and guidance they need to thrive.

Through restorative healing practices, we help individuals overcome trauma, develop resilience, and find inner peace on their journey towards personal transformation, in prison programming and corresponding courses.
We offer a range of reentry support services to promote successful reintegration into society, including release pickups, employment assistance, housing support, and life skills training.
Hope Blossoms Retreats, which will provide support for girls ages 9-18 affected by parental incarceration in California, Tennessee, and Alabama. The retreats will offer a safe and nurturing environment for emotional healing through art therapy, life skills workshops, and community-building activities, empowering these young girls to overcome challenges and break the cycle of generational trauma.
Bridging Hearts Nationwide for incarcerated parents to maintain strong bonds with their children through various in person programs we offer.
We are partnered with HAARP UCSD providing tutoring & mentorship to children impacted by incarceration.Over the past year, we have helped over 1,000 individuals in our community improve their mental health and well-being.
Our entrepreneurial programs provide formerly incarcerated and justice impacted individuals with the resources and support needed to start their own businesses and create a brighter future.

Christina Brown is an impassioned advocate for justice and the rights of individuals impacted by the legal system. Christina's advocacy journey began 9 years ago, shaped by her own experience as a single mother after her family was systematically impacted by the legal system.
With a robust background in running inside prison programming, family reunification, and statewide advocacy, Christina has built extensive networks and allies across the country. Her work has been instrumental in helping families across California stay connected with their incarcerated loved ones. Additionally, Christina serves as a board member for multiple organizations in California focused on criminal and social justice reform and survivors of domestic violence.
Growing up amidst California's diverse landscapes and being system-impacted herself, Christina brings deep empathy and understanding to her advocacy. She skillfully navigates the complexities of the legal system, striving to break down barriers and foster solidarity within communities. Christina's relentless dedication and compassion serve as a beacon of hope, catalyzing meaningful change and promoting a fairer, more compassionate society.
Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer
Candace Wakefield is the Chief Operating Officer at Bridges of Hope. Having grown up with a father who was incarcerated, Candace deeply understands the challenges faced by families affected by incarceration. This personal connection fuels her dedication to supporting others in similar situations.
Candace's journey in social impact began in 2015 when she started volunteering with The Place4Grace, focusing on reuniting families. She holds a BFA in Photography from Cal State Long Beach and has experience in marketing, which she brings to her nonprofit work.
In 2021, Candace became the Director of Operations at The Place4Grace, where she gained valuable experience in running nonprofit programs and supporting reentry services. Now at Bridges of Hope, Candace oversees programs that help families reconnect, support personal growth, and break the cycle of generational incarceration. Her commitment to this work drives her to create lasting change for the communities she serves.
Director of Programs
Jenny Andrade is the Program Director at Bridges of Hope, having previously served as the Director of The Place4Grace. Her mission is to reunite children with their incarcerated fathers across California prisons, driven by a deep understanding of the profound impact of parental absence.
As a first-generation American, Jenny experienced significant family separation due to deportation, an experience that has profoundly shaped her life and outlook. This personal journey has fueled her passion for advocacy, motivating her to work tirelessly for family reunification. She believes that a parent plays a crucial role in a child's health, emotional well-being, and positive development, and she strives to bridge the gap caused by systemic barriers in the justice system.
Since 2010, Jenny has been dedicated to serving families and youth across the Bay Area, providing support, resources, and guidance to those affected by incarceration. Her commitment is reflected in her collaborative efforts with community organizations and policymakers to create accessible programs that empower families and promote healing.
Outside of her professional duties, Jenny engages in public speaking and community outreach, sharing her story and advocating for systemic change to ensure that no child has to endure the pain of separation from a parent.
